Re-inauguration – the Borochov House, Mishmar Hanegev, video 2014

“…In the center of the interplay of blue and green in the Blue Grass exhibition, there stands the Borochov House, on a small hill: a secular shrine of Socialistic culture and ideology, designed by architect Shmuel Bickels (1957). The House itself, like this exhibition, is a metaphor. It is both a house and a model, a conscious reproduction of foreign cultural materials, standing symbolically on the top of a hill, like the Temple of Athena Nike in the Acropolis of Athens. In the video, the members of the kibbutz climb this hill in a staged pilgrimage, a realization of the ideal of “culture” that the House embodies. The opening of the ‘Blue Grass’ exhibition serves as a re-inauguration of the Borochov House.“

חניכה מחדש – בית בורוכוב, משמר הנגב ,וידאו 2014

…”בלב השיח הירוק-כחול בתערוכת “דשא כחול” ,ניצב לו על גבעה קטנה בית בורוכוב: היכל חילוני של התרבות והאידיאולוגיה של הסוציאליזם,  שתיכנן האדריכל שמואל ביקלס(1957) , הבית עצמו, כמו התערוכה “דשא כחול”, הוא דימוי. בית שהוא גם מודל, שכפול מודע של תוכן תרבותי אחר, הניצב כמו סמל על ראש גבעה, כמו מקדש האלה אתנה על גבעת האקרופוליס באתונה. חברי הקיבוץ העולים לרגל בפעולה המבוימת בצילום הווידיאו הם ביטוי מוחשי לאידיאה של “תרבות” שהבית מייצג. הקמת התערוכה היא חניכה מחדש של בית בורוכוב.“
