“FOR” –2005

A blanket turned into a dense and compact material – a brick. This brick contains emotion, like a trapped scream, but does not serve as actual protection from any real threat. It is a metonymic object mirroring an internal condition, magnifying a feeling of helplessness.

The location of the gallery is fundamental to this work. Qassams fall daily, sounds of explosions and IDF gunfire echoes. The fields around the kibbutz overlook the bustling Gaza Strip, before the disengagement, There was much anxiety in the air.

למען- 2005

שמיכה מקופלת והופכת לחומר דחוס וצפוף – ללבנת בניין. הלבנה הזאת מכילה רגש, כמו צעקה כלואה, אבל אינה מגן ממשי מפני איום אמיתי.פעולת ליבון השמיכות ודיפון הגלריה הינה פעולה מופרכת שמטרתה לחסום ולעמעם את הרעש, את המבט ואת המגע עם המתרחש בחוץ.

מיקום הגלריה הוא קריטי להנחת היסוד של העבודה. מהשדות נשקף נופה של עזה, קסאמים נופלים, קולות התפוצצויות וירי חיילינו מהדהד באוויר, חששות כבדים מרחפים רגע לפני ההתנתקות.
